About You and Your Pets

Leaving your favorite pet behind when you go on vacation or to work can be a difficult and sometimes stressful process. It’s our goal to take the stress away so you can relax, knowing your pets are being looked after for by someone who is caring, responsible, and experienced.

Whether it be a traffic back up, illness, flight or other unexpected delay just give us a call telling us what you need, and you can be assured your pets will be well cared for. Even if you just want to spend another day basking in vacation splendor we can help make that happen by taking care of your pet for one more day. We’re here to help!

We can even help with spur of the moment plans that might otherwise cause you to say, “I can’t. I have to let the dog out.” Do you need to work late? Did a friend ask you out for supper? We’re a short phone call away and will be happy to make sure your dog gets outside and of course, that he doesn’t miss dinner!

Knowing that we are just a phone call away can relieve your mind and take the stress out of your day.

About Me

My name is Jill Harmon, and I established Dogs On The Go in 2003. My husband12249989_548923325263519_3207142177766595739_n Jerry retired in 2008

and helps me immensely with all my pet sitting. We don’t like talking about ourselves as our business is about you and your pets needs, but here goes . . .

We are affiliated with Pet Sitters International and adhere to their strict code of ethics and professionalism in the field of pet sitting services.

We offer both in your home and our home pet sitting services. We will, on a limited basis, take your dog into our own home while you are away. We call this our Bed and Biscuit treatment, and we’ll pamper your dog the entire time he’s with us. This affords you and your dog a luxury few other pet sitters provide.

For the last 45 years we have owned Shetland Sheepdogs and for a while I was breeding and showing them in Confirmation at dog shows. I also was into grooming for about 10 years.

What made me go into Pet Sitting? It was just something I always wanted to do. I love animals and after several years of pet sitting I’ll say that it’s a fantastic job! I get to meet all kinds of dogs, cats, and other animals with many personalities and a whole bunch of new people who own them.

We service the following areas:

Elyria, South Amherst, Amherst, Lagrange, Grafton, North Ridgeville, Avon and Sheffield. If you don’t see your city listed please ask as we may still be able to help you out for a slightly extra charge.

As we customize to fit your needs, fees may vary and subject to change. Fees are outlined on the Services and Rates page for your convenience.
